Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup toffee bits
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • Sea salt for sprinkling

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat until it turns golden brown and smells nutty. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the browned butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Mix until smooth.
  4. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, and mix until well combined.
  5. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined.
  6. Fold in the toffee bits and chocolate chips.
  7. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  8. Sprinkle sea salt on top of each cookie dough ball.
  9. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden but the centers are still soft.
  10. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack. Enjoy with a glass of milk!

Notes

Cool the browned butter slightly before adding the eggs to prevent scrambling. Chill the dough for thicker cookies.
