A delicious treat balancing chocolate, caramel, and apples with a satisfying crunch.

  • Total Time: 120 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 oz milk or dark chocolate
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil
  • 1 cup soft baking caramels (melted)
  • 1 medium green apple (chopped or thinly sliced)
  • 1 cup chopped gluten-free pretzels or nuts (pecans, walnuts, or almonds)
  • 1/4 cup melted chocolate for drizzle

Instructions

  1. Soak the apple pieces in 1 cup of water with 2 tablespoons lemon juice for 5-10 minutes to prevent browning.
  2. Melt the chocolate and coconut oil using a double boiler or microwave until smooth and creamy.
  3. Line a sheet pan with parchment paper and pour the melted chocolate onto the paper, spreading it to a 1/4 inch thickness.
  4. Add crushed pretzels, diced apples, caramel drizzle, and melted chocolate on top of the chocolate layer.
  5. Refrigerate for 1-2 hours until set.
  6. Once hardened, break into rustic pieces or cut into squares for uniform pieces.

Notes

Use gluten-free pretzels for a gluten-free option. For a vegan option, use dairy-free chocolate and plant-based caramels.
