Ingredients

  • 1 package cream cheese (8 ounces) (room temperature)
  • 2 tablespoons sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon green onion (minced)
  • 4 ounces cheddar cheese (1 cup) (shredded)
  • 1/2 cup pecans (finely chopped)
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley (finely chopped)

Instructions

  1. Take the cream cheese out of the fridge about an hour before making this recipe to soften it.
  2. In a medium mixing bowl, add cream cheese, sour cream, lemon juice, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and green onion.
  3. Mix with an electric hand mixer or wooden spoon until smooth.
  4. Fold in the shredded cheddar cheese until evenly combined.
  5. Cover the bowl and chill for at least 1 hour to let the flavors meld.
  6. Finely chop the pecans and parsley, combining them in a clean bowl.
  7. Remove the cheese ball mixture from the fridge and shape it into a ball using wet hands.
  8. Gently roll the cheese ball in the pecans and herbs until fully covered.

Notes

For a smoother texture, ensure the cream cheese is adequately softened. Experiment with various herbs to personalize flavor.
