  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup dried cranberries
  • Zest of 1 orange
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a separate large bowl, beat together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth and creamy.
  4. Add the egg and vanilla extract to the mixture, mixing until well combined.
  5. Gradually incorporate the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined. Avoid over-mixing to maintain that chewy texture.
  6. Fold in the dried cranberries, orange zest, and nuts if you’re using them.
  7. Drop spoonfuls of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, ensuring they are spaced adequately.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
  9. Allow to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
