- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tbsp milk
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
Instructions
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- In another bowl, whisk eggs, buttermilk, and vanilla.
- Stir until just combined; fold in the diced apples.
- In a deep pot, heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).
- Drop batter by spoonfuls into hot oil in batches, cooking 3-4 minutes per side until golden and cooked through.
- Remove fritters to a wire rack or paper towels.
- Whisk powdered sugar, milk, vanilla, and cinnamon until smooth.
- Drizzle glaze over warm fritters and dust with extra powdered sugar if desired.
