Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- Chocolate chips (optional for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- In another bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form and gently fold it into the ricotta mixture.
- In a separate bowl, mix flour, baking powder, salt, granulated sugar, melted butter, and egg to form a dough.
- Spread half of the dough in the prepared baking dish as the crust.
- Layer the ricotta filling over the crust, then crumble the remaining dough on top.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden.
- Allow to cool before serving, and optionally top with chocolate chips.
Notes
Chill the ricotta briefly if it seems too loose to maintain the filling’s texture. Allow adequate cooling for clean slices.
