A delightful appetizer with a crisp phyllo exterior and a creamy, tangy feta filling, drizzled with chili honey for an added kick.

Ingredients

  • 8 oz Feta cheese
  • 8 sheets Phyllo dough
  • 3 tbsp Olive oil
  • 2 tbsp Chili honey (honey mixed with chili flakes or sauce)
  • 1/2 tsp Black pepper
  • 1/4 cup Fresh herbs (such as dill or parsley)
  • Optional: red pepper flakes for extra heat

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Crumble the feta cheese into a bowl and mix in chopped fresh herbs, black pepper, and a pinch of red pepper flakes if desired.
  3. Lay out a sheet of phyllo dough and brush it lightly with olive oil.
  4. Place a small amount of the feta mixture at one end and roll it up tightly, folding in the sides as you go to create a roll.
  5. Repeat with remaining ingredients.
  6. Place the rolls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, and brush the tops with more olive oil.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes, or until golden and crispy.
  8. While baking, prepare the chili honey drizzle. Heat honey in a small saucepan and add chili flakes, stirring until combined.
  9. Once the rolls are done baking, drizzle with the sweet and spicy chili honey before serving.
  10. Enjoy as a tasty appetizer or salad side.

Notes

Keep phyllo sheets covered with a damp towel while working to prevent drying out. Enjoy these warm for the best texture contrast.
