Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons pumpkin puree (not pie filling)
  • 1 to 1.5 cups milk (2 percent or oat milk)
  • 2 or 3 teaspoons sugar or maple syrup (or sweetener of your choice)
  • 1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice (plus more for topping)
  • Pinch of vanilla (optional)
  • 1/2 cup strong brewed coffee or one shot of espresso
  • Whipped cream (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, whisk together pumpkin puree, pumpkin pie spice, sugar, and milk. Heat gently, taking care not to boil.
  2. Once steamy, remove from heat and stir in vanilla.
  3. Pour hot coffee or espresso into a mug.
  4. Add the pumpkin-milk mixture to the coffee.
  5. If desired, froth the mixture for a foamy texture.
  6. Top with whipped cream and extra pumpkin spice before serving.

Notes

Use plain pumpkin puree for best flavor. You can swap the milk for any non-dairy alternative. This drink can be enjoyed hot or iced.
