A cozy, crunchy, and flavorful gluten-free apple crisp that’s perfect for fall gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 6 cups Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, or Jonagold apples, sliced
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 cup gluten-free oats
  • 1/2 cup gluten-free all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup vegan butter or coconut oil
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • Optional: chopped nuts, a pinch of nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine sliced apples, sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Let sit for 10 minutes.
  3. In another bowl, mix together oats, flour, brown sugar, salt, and softened vegan butter until crumbly.
  4. Spread the apple mixture in a baking dish and top evenly with the crumble mixture.
  5. Bake for 30-35 minutes, until the topping is golden brown and the apples are bubbling.
  6. Serve warm, optionally topped with vanilla ice cream or coconut cream.

Notes

For added crunch, stir in chopped nuts or gluten-free oats into the topping. Can be made ahead and stored in the fridge before baking.
