- 6 cups Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, or Jonagold apples, sliced
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 cup gluten-free oats
- 1/2 cup gluten-free all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup vegan butter or coconut oil
- 1/4 tsp salt
- Optional: chopped nuts, a pinch of nutmeg
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, combine sliced apples, sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Let sit for 10 minutes.
- In another bowl, mix together oats, flour, brown sugar, salt, and softened vegan butter until crumbly.
- Spread the apple mixture in a baking dish and top evenly with the crumble mixture.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, until the topping is golden brown and the apples are bubbling.
- Serve warm, optionally topped with vanilla ice cream or coconut cream.
Notes
For added crunch, stir in chopped nuts or gluten-free oats into the topping. Can be made ahead and stored in the fridge before baking.
