Ingredients

- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 can chickpeas, drained
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 tsp cumin
- Salt to taste
- Juice of 1 lemon
- Rice or pita for serving (optional)
Instructions
- Brown the ground beef in a large pan and drain excess fat if necessary.
- Add the drained chickpeas, chopped onion, minced garlic, cumin, and salt to the pan.
- Stir everything together and cook until heated through.
- Just before serving, squeeze lemon juice over the mixture.
- Serve in bowls, optionally over rice or with pita.
- Add toppings like yogurt or chopped parsley if desired.
Notes
This dish can be made vegetarian by substituting the ground beef for additional beans or vegetables.
