Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk together the melted butter, eggs, vanilla extract, and milk until smooth.
- Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined.
- Fold in the chopped maraschino cherries gently with a spatula.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 50–60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- While the bread cools, whisk powdered sugar, almond extract, and milk until smooth for the glaze.
- Transfer the loaf to a wire rack to cool for at least 10–15 minutes before glazing.
Notes
For best results, use room-temperature eggs and blot cherries before adding to prevent extra moisture.
