Maple Donut Bars are sweet treats with a golden crumb and glossy maple glaze, balancing moisture and texture for a delightful indulgence.

  • Total Time: 45 minutes
  • Yield: 12 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • 1-2 tablespoons milk (for glaze)
  • Extra maple syrup for drizzling (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking pan with non-stick spray or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, salt, ground cinnamon, and ground nutmeg. Whisk together until well mixed.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together melted butter, whole milk, eggs, vanilla extract, and maple syrup until smooth.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the bowl with the dry ingredients and gently fold until just combined.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean and edges are lightly golden.
  7. Allow to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  8. Prepare the glaze by whisking powdered sugar and 1 tablespoon of milk until smooth, adding more milk until you reach the desired consistency.
  9. Drizzle the maple glaze over the cooled bars and add extra maple syrup if desired. Allow glaze to set before slicing.

Notes

For a dairy-free option, substitute whole milk with a full-fat plant-based milk while maintaining butter for texture. Adjust sugar if needed but keep maple syrup for flavor.
