Delicious and nostalgic cookies made with peanut butter, ripe bananas, and chocolate chips.

  • Total Time: 22 minutes
  • Yield: 24 cookies 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 large ripe banana, mashed
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Optional: 1/2 cup chopped nuts (like walnuts or pecans)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the peanut butter and mashed banana until smooth.
  3. Add the brown sugar and granulated sugar, mixing until well combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips and nuts if using.
  7. Scoop tablespoonfuls onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are lightly golden.
  9. Let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

Ensure your banana is ripe for maximum sweetness. Avoid overmixing the dough to keep cookies soft.
