A quick and easy recipe that combines the flavors of a classic smash burger with cheesy quesadillas, perfect for family meals.

  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb Ground Beef (80/20 for juiciness)
  • 1 tsp Salt (Adjust to taste)
  • 1 tsp Pepper (Freshly cracked black pepper preferred)
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder (or fresh minced garlic)
  • 4 large Flour Tortillas (gluten-free available)
  • 1 cup Shredded Cheddar or American Cheese (mixing recommended)
  • 1 cup Pickles (adds a tangy crunch)
  • 1 cup Diced Onions (for that classic burger flavor)
  • 1/2 cup Burger Sauce (to use as dip or drizzle)

Instructions

  1. Cook the Ground Beef: In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the ground beef. Season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Cook until browned and fully cooked, about 7-10 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  2. Prepare the Tortillas: Lay out the flour tortillas flat. On one half of each tortilla, layer half of the cheese, followed by the cooked ground beef, diced onions, pickles, and the remaining cheese.
  3. Fold the Quesadilla: Carefully fold each tortilla in half to enclose the filling.
  4. Cook the Quesadillas: In the same skillet, add a little oil if needed. Place the folded quesadillas in the skillet and cook over medium heat until they are golden and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side. Repeat with the remaining quesadillas.
  5. Remove and Slice: Once crispy, remove the quesadillas from the skillet and let them cool for a minute. Slice each quesadilla into wedges.
  6. Serve with Sauce: Serve warm with burger sauce for dipping or drizzling on top.

Notes

Avoid overstuffing to prevent tearing during cooking. Combine different cheeses for added flavor.
