An elegant smoked salmon and cream cheese log that serves as a delightful appetizer for any gathering.

Ingredients

  • 8 oz smoked salmon, chopped
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 cup fresh dill, chopped
  • 1/4 cup capers, drained
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: 1/4 teaspoon lemon zest (for coating)
  • Garnish: Additional smoked salmon slices

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, Dijon mustard, chopped smoked salmon, dill, capers, salt, and pepper. Stir until blended.
  2. Lay a large piece of plastic wrap on your countertop. Transfer the mixture onto the plastic and shape it into a log.
  3. Carefully roll the log in the plastic wrap, tightly sealing it. Refrigerate for a minimum of 2 hours (or until firm).
  4. Once chilled, unwrap the log and roll it in lemon zest if desired. Place it on a serving platter and arrange additional smoked salmon slices on top.
  5. Cut into pieces and serve with your favorite crackers or fresh vegetables.

Notes

Use high-quality smoked salmon for the best flavor. Customize with different herbs if desired.
