- 1 package frozen puff pastry, thawed
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
- Powdered sugar (for dusting)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Roll out the thawed puff pastry on a floured surface. Cut into squares or rectangles.
- In a bowl, mix the softened cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
- Place a spoonful of the cream cheese mixture in the center of each pastry square.
- Top with sliced strawberries.
- Fold the corners of the pastry over the filling to create a Danish shape.
- Beat the egg and brush the mixture over the top of each pastry.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
- Allow to cool slightly, then dust with powdered sugar and serve.
Notes
Keep the pastry cold while you work for better puffing. Avoid overfilling to prevent soggy pastries.
