A vibrant, layered dish combining sweet potato and tart cranberries, topped with a golden Gruyère crust, perfect for holiday gatherings.

  • Total Time: 75 minutes
  • Yield: 8 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 medium sweet potatoes, peeled and sliced
  • 1 cup fresh or frozen cranberries
  • 1 cup grated Gruyère cheese
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a greased baking dish, layer half of the sweet potato slices, followed by half of the cranberries and half of the Gruyère cheese.
  3. Pour half of the heavy cream over the layers.
  4. Repeat the layers with the remaining sweet potatoes, cranberries, and cheese.
  5. Pour the remaining cream on top and season with salt and pepper.
  6. Mix the breadcrumbs with melted butter and sprinkle over the top.
  7. Bake in the oven for 45 minutes to 1 hour, until golden brown and bubbly.
  8. Allow to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Slice sweet potatoes evenly for uniform cooking. If using frozen cranberries, scatter them semi-frozen to reduce moisture pooling. Allow to rest for 10 minutes before serving to tighten layers.
