Ingredients
Scale
- 4 medium sweet potatoes, peeled and sliced
- 1 cup fresh or frozen cranberries
- 1 cup grated Gruyère cheese
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a greased baking dish, layer half of the sweet potato slices, followed by half of the cranberries and half of the Gruyère cheese.
- Pour half of the heavy cream over the layers.
- Repeat the layers with the remaining sweet potatoes, cranberries, and cheese.
- Pour the remaining cream on top and season with salt and pepper.
- Mix the breadcrumbs with melted butter and sprinkle over the top.
- Bake in the oven for 45 minutes to 1 hour, until golden brown and bubbly.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving.
Notes
Slice sweet potatoes evenly for uniform cooking. If using frozen cranberries, scatter them semi-frozen to reduce moisture pooling. Allow to rest for 10 minutes before serving to tighten layers.
