- 1 lb chicken breast, sliced
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2–3 Thai bird chilies, chopped (to taste)
- 1 cup fresh basil leaves
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon fish sauce
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 2 cups cooked jasmine rice (for serving)
Instructions
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the minced garlic and bird chilies, and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add the sliced chicken and cook until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
- Stir in soy sauce, fish sauce, and sugar until the chicken is well coated.
- Add the basil leaves, stir until they wilt, and remove from heat.
- Serve the Thai Basil Chicken over jasmine rice.
Notes
Use thin, uniform slices of chicken and add the basil only at the end to maintain flavor and texture.
