- 1 loaf of crusty bread
- 4-5 ripe tomatoes, diced
- 1 cup fresh basil, chopped
- 2-3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Slice the crusty bread into thick slices and place them on a baking tray.
- Brush one side of each slice with olive oil and toast in the oven for about 5-7 minutes, or until golden brown.
- In a large bowl, combine diced tomatoes, chopped basil, minced garlic, balsamic vinegar, and remaining olive oil. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Once the bread is toasted, remove from the oven and spoon the tomato basil mixture onto each slice. Serve immediately.
Notes
Serve immediately for the best taste; this bruschetta can also be easily adapted for vegan or gluten-free diets.
