Ingredients

  • 8 oz feta cheese, crumbled
  • 3 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 baguette, sliced into 1/2-inch rounds
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/21 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to heat preference)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Arrange the baguette slices on a baking sheet and lightly brush both sides with olive oil.
  3. Bake for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway through until golden and crisp. Let them cool slightly.
  4. In a mixing bowl, blend the feta, cream cheese, olive oil, lemon juice, and black pepper until smooth and creamy. Scrape down the sides as necessary. Chill until ready to serve.
  5. In a small saucepan, warm the honey and red pepper flakes over low heat for 2–3 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat and let it infuse for 5–10 minutes, straining if desired.
  6. Spread a generous spoonful of whipped feta onto each crostini and drizzle with the warm hot honey. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

For a healthier version, opt for reduced-fat cream cheese or whole grain baguette slices. Serve with a light salad or crisp white wine.
