This lasagna is bold, comforting and filled with layers of rich meat sauce and creamy cheese, perfect for family dinners and gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 12 lasagna noodles
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 lb Italian sausage
  • 15 oz ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1 egg
  • 4 cups marinara sauce
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook lasagna noodles according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
  3. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onions and minced garlic; sauté until translucent.
  4. Add ground beef and Italian sausage; cook until browned. Drain excess fat.
  5. Stir in marinara sauce and Italian seasoning; let simmer for 10 minutes.
  6. In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese, egg, and a pinch of salt and pepper.
  7. In a baking dish, spread a layer of meat sauce, followed by a layer of noodles, then dollops of the ricotta mixture and mozzarella cheese.
  8. Repeat layers, finishing with meat sauce and a generous layer of mozzarella and Parmesan cheese on top.
  9. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  10. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.
  11. Let it cool for 10 minutes before slicing. Enjoy!

Notes

For a crisper top, broil for 2 to 3 minutes while watching closely.
