  • 1 loaf cinnamon swirl bread
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 4 ounces apple pie filling, chopped fine (or cinnamon applesauce)
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 stick (8 tablespoons) unsalted butter, melted
  • Cinnamon Buttermilk Caramel Sauce, for dipping (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Use a rolling pin to flatten each slice of cinnamon swirl bread.
  3. In a small bowl, combine softened cream cheese and chopped apple pie filling until well mixed.
  4. Spread the cream cheese and apple mixture evenly over each flattened slice of bread, then roll tightly seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
  5. In a separate bowl, combine granulated sugar and ground cinnamon. Brush melted butter over each roll-up and sprinkle with the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes until golden brown and slightly crispy.
  7. Remove from the oven and serve warm, dusted with powdered sugar and accompanied by optional cinnamon buttermilk caramel sauce.
